Now Me ~ I’m a bit of a conundrum. On the one hand I’m a bit of a tomboy. I like toys for boys. I like hanging with guys. I’ve never been to a spa {yes, really}. I’ve never gone for a manicure or a pedicure {yes, really}. But on the other hand, I can be very girly in many ways. One of these ways is the fact I love the art of make up. I see it as an extension of design, in that you are almost ‘painting’ a picture on someone’s face using the features they already have but just enhancing them. I have never taken a make-up course but I’d really love to. I love trying out new make-up products and cosmetics and if I really love a product you’re likely to find a review on it right here on my blog.
Anyway, here is my review of Benefit’s {one of my favourite cosmetic brands} That Gal primer:
I must be honest, when I first tried That Gal primer at the Benefit counter, I didn’t really ‘get’ it. I put some on my hand to feel the texture and examine the colour and at first it seemed really minimal with regards to those aspects ~ especially at that price {$29.00 or about R250.00}. It’s always quite a bit more expensive to buy Benefit products here in SA, so I decided it would be a bit of a silly purchase. But then when I bought a few other products from Benefit I was given a free mini That Gal and thought I may as well try it out properly.
I must say my mind has changed and now I just adore this lightweight primer for a number of reasons. Even though I can hardly notice it straight after application in terms of appearance, the soft silky texture & cool temperature of the primer feels amazing on my skin. Looking at my skin in the light though, I definitely notice the light reflecting pigments which help brighten up my skin tone. This product also contains raspberry and chamomile which is known for its soothing effects. I love dabbing That Gal on my eyelids when I wake up with puffy eyes for that very reason ~ it immediately helps.
Probably my most favourite thing about this product would have to be the way it smells & feels ~ an instant mood lifter. The proper size tube is actually really big considering how little one uses for each application and I’d estimate it lasting about a year.
